Seneca Falls CSD Welcomes New School Resource Officer, Sergeant Michael Poole
The Seneca Falls Central School District welcomes new School Resource Officer, Sergeant Michael Poole as he begins his duties here in our district.
Sergeant Poole was born and raised in the City of Geneva, NY. He always knew at a young age that he wanted to serve the community by becoming a police officer. In November 2005, he was awarded that opportunity by the Seneca Falls Police Department where he started with the road patrol division. In December 2012, Officer Poole earned the privilege to be promoted to Sergeant. During Sergeant Poole’s time with the department, he became a state-certified field training officer where he was assigned to teach new officers about the responsibilities and tasks associated with being a police officer. Sergeant Poole is also a state-certified general topics police instructor along with being a state-certified firearms and patrol rifle instructor.
Over the years, Sergeant Poole has been recognized for his efforts of service to the community. Among his achievements, he is a 5-time recipient of the SFPD STOP-DWI Officer of the Year which is given to an officer for his or her efforts in DWI detection. In 2012, for his continued efforts in DWI protection, Sergeant Poole was a recipient of the Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) Recognition of Excellence, which is awarded in conjunction with NYS STOP-DWI and the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee. He is also a 3-time recipient of the SFPD Life Saver Award, given to an officer who saves a life while going above and beyond the course of his or her duties as a police officer.
Sergeant Poole has deep roots in the community. After moving to Seneca Falls in 2010, he married his wife Kristen and they have two children, Connor and Grace that attend school in the Seneca Falls Central School District. Sergeant Poole enjoys working with children of all ages. In the late 2000’s he was a volunteer coach for the Mynderse Academy JV Baseball Team. He is an avid baseball fan and enjoys watching local sporting events.
In his spare time, Sergeant Poole is an avid outdoorsman. He enjoys hunting and fishing with his friends and children. When he is not working or hunting, Sergeant Poole enjoys spending time with his family and close friends.
Sergeant Poole is looking forward to this new opportunity as the School Resource Officer. He takes pride in serving his community and helping others.
