Dear Seneca Falls CSD Parents/Guardians:

As you may be aware, our School Resource Officer Program has been existent for four years now.  The program has grown and evolved over those years.  It has become an important and valued part of our school community.

I have been made aware that School Resource Officer Christopher Denny has received a promotion through the Seneca Falls Police Department.  Officer Denny will begin a new role as Investigator.  This is great news for Officer Denny and we all congratulate him on the promotion and new position.

This also means that Officer Denny will be transitioning from his role as School Resource Officer.  Along with congratulating Officer Denny, we thank him for his efforts to get the School Resource Officer Program "off the ground" in our district.  Given the new program four years ago, Officer Denny has worked to implement the program, while honoring the program goals of "Education, Prevention, and Intervention".  His ability to develop a presence within the school community, know students and families, complete investigations, attend to and assist with student crises, support/implement the school safety plan, and assist/support school-based initiatives have been noticeable and commendable.  Officer Denny cares deeply about SFCSD and the SRO Program.  His dedication and commitment has helped to solidify the program in our district.  Officer Denny will be around over the 6 - 8 weeks while we transition to a new School Resource Officer.

We also recognize and thank Seneca Falls Police Chief Peenstra for his strong commitment and belief in the SRO Program.  The Chief's commitment to having an SRO has helped to build the program in our district.  That strong commitment and belief in the SRO Program has resulted in ongoing communication and strong SFCSD-SFPD partnership that provides a program that meets a wide variety of goals.  We are appreciative to have a Police Chief that has such a great interest in our school district and making sure the SRO Program meets current needs and interests.  Once known, the Chief immediately made me aware of Officer Denny's promotion and began discussing transition plans with me.

We are pleased to announce that Sergeant Michael Poole will serve as the next School Resource Officer.  Sergeant Poole will begin to assume duties and transition to the position during the next 6 - 8 weeks.  We welcome Sergeant Poole and look forward to working together to continue implementing all facets of the SRO Program.  Sergeant Poole will spend time with Officer Denny in schools during the transition period.  Sergeant Poole will be introduced to faculty, staff, students, and parents/guardians during the next couple of months.

We welcome Sergeant Poole to the SFCSD community.
