Senior Wrestler Trent Youngs Wins State Qualifier and Competes at States

Mynderse Academy Senior Trent Youngs had an incredible wrestling season. He went 40-4 and was named Most Outstanding Wrestler at the Port Byron Tournament and at the Finger Lakes League Tournament. He placed second at the Sectional Meet and then took First place at the State Qualifiers the next weekend. That win earned him a ticket to compete in the NYSPHSAA Championship Tournament. He is only the fourth wrestler in school history and the first wrestler since Rob Alcott in 1998 to earn a spot on the State Tournament Team for Section V. Known to his teachers, coaches and administrators an incredible student-athlete that always works hard and also demonstrates excellent sportsmanship, this kind of success is something that he has earned. Trent was an All-State and Finger Lakes First Team selection for football. He is currently a senior at Mynderse Academy and studies in the New Visions Medical program with FLTCC. He is planning to continue his education at college in the fall.

When Trent arrived in Albany for the State Tournament, he was awarded the Sportsmanship Award for Section V Division 2. He was also chosen to lead all of Section V in the Parade of Champions to start the tournament.  During the tournament, Trent went 1-2. The competition was incredible and he said the experience was just awesome.

We are so proud of you Trent! Thank you for representing Mynderse Academy and the Seneca Falls community so well. #SFCSDPROUD
