Seneca Falls Community Overwhelmingly Supports Capital Project

Many thanks to the Seneca Falls School Community for their overwhelming approval of the December 19th Capital Project referendum. The $13.9 million project was approved by a vote of 178 - 31.
The majority of the project will include reconstruction of the Transportation Center on Butler Avenue, as well as redesigned and renovated Science classrooms, gymnasium, and locker rooms at Mynderse Academy. Additional work will occur at Cady Stanton School, where additional parking spaces will be created to ease traffic congestion at the rear of the building. A sidewalk connecting the back of the school to the front of the school will also be included at Stanton. Frank Knight School and Seneca Falls Middle School will include minor renovations.
The District will now work with its Architectural Firm and Project Manager on the design phase of the project, before submitting it to the New York State Education Department for review and approval. The District hopes to receive approval around January 2019 and begin construction thereafter.

The Board of Education, administration, faculty, and staff continue to be so appreciative of the support of the school community. The District looks forward to these upcoming improvements that will allow us to work with the community to provide the best education for all students in our district.
