    Advanced Placement Scores

    Each AP Exam score is a weighted combination of the student's score on the multiple-choice and free-response sections.

    The final score is reported on a five point scale:

    5= extremely well qualified and corresponding college grade of 'A'.
    4= well qualified, equivalent to grades A-, B+, B in college coursework
    3= qualified, equivalent to grades B-, C+, and C in college course.
    2= possibly qualified
    1= no recommendation

    AP Score Reporting

    AP Score Reports are sent in July to the college designated on the student's registration answer sheet, to the student, and to the student's secondary school.  The reports are cumulative and include scores for all the AP Exams a student has ever taken, unless the student has requested that specific scores be withheld from a college or cancelled.  Some reports take longer to process because of problems with identification information.  Students who have not received a score report by September 1 should contact AP Services. Students can find additional information in the Bulletin for AP Students and Parents, in the AP Student Pack, which was recommended you keep after your last exam, and at www.collegeboard.com/apstudents
