The NYS Department of Motor Vehicles’ Online Knowledge Test Application (OKTA) allows high school students ages 15 and older to take the driver’s permit test at Mynderse Academy High School, reducing the time spent by students and their parents at the DMV office. The test is presented in an easy-to-use computer format and is offered in English and Spanish.

This free test is administered online by Mrs. Stevers in the Counseling Office and takes less than one class period.   Student high school ID OR original (raised seal) birth certificate must be provided on the day of testing. If you have, and use consistently, testing modifications during the school year, these accommodations will be provided for this test also. Upon successful completion of the test, further NYS paperwork will be provided to the future driver.  This paperwork with barcode must be brought to the DMV where the new driver will be issued a permit.

If the student doesn't pass, they can retake the test as often as they need to. It is recommended students study the driver's manual further before re-testing.

Stop in the high school counseling office, or email Mrs. Stevers (kstevers@senecafallscsd.org) to set up a time to take the test.  It typically takes 20-30 minutes to complete the process.

Schedule your test during a study hall or 10th period.

Tests are administered during the school calendar year.
